Abeda Mulla
  • Abeda specialises in the application of qualitative methodologies to analytical questions and leads on qualitative evaluation.  She enjoys applying her evaluation expertise to improving access to health and care services, especially for those that are most disadvantaged.  She believes that serious consideration of equity of access challenges will support health and care systems to reduce health inequalities.

  • Abeda started her career in medical research. She gained a PhD from Imperial College London in Neuroendocrinology. She then moved on to medical communication and then to applied social science – including time in the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care programme.  She has experience of working in England, the USA and the Netherlands. 

    Abeda is currently project-managing the national process evaluation of the COVID-19 vaccine deployment programme. She previously led on national work that collated good examples of vaccine uptake. She also led on a rapid qualitative study of the way that primary care and community services responded to the pandemic.
